We can get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life that we often forget to think of others. But the time has come when we can’t just rely on others to make the world a better place – each one of us has to do our bit.
We believe that even the smallest gesture of doing something nice for someone else can have a lasting impact. And that one promise can make a huge difference.
So this month we’re teaming up with The Footpath Library to celebrate and spread kindness through the #NiceBucketChallenge. To take part simply make a promise to do at least one nice thing for someone else once a week during August.
It doesn’t have to be time-consuming or labour-intensive and you can do it anywhere, at any time, and for anyone. It could be as simple as writing a note of appreciation, buying coffee for the person behind you in line or leaving a bag of microwave popcorn taped to a Redbox machine.
Make a promise and find the inspiration to spread titbits of happiness by putting your money on the line for The Footpath Library. If you keep your promise, the people you are being nice to benefit from your kindness. If you break your promise, you feel good having donated to a fantastic organisation that is encouraging literacy and raising awareness of homelessness. And we can guarantee that at the end of the month, you’ll feel great either way.
Share your random act of niceness on social media with the hashtags #nicebucketchallenge #promiseorpay #thefootpathlibrary and post a picture to our Facebook page for your chance to win a $100 book pack.
It’s impossible to do something kind, or be on the receiving end of a random act of kindness, and not feel like your entire day just got a whole lot better. In celebration of Homelessness Prevention Week (3 – 9 August) spread the love and make a promise to do at least one nice thing for someone else once a week during August.
